Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya, Trang Campus, hosted its annual Wai Khru ceremony for 2024.

The “Wai Khru Ceremony” is a cherished tradition that encourages students to commit to their studies and apply their knowledge for the greatest benefit, ultimately leading to future success. On August 15, 2024, Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya, Trang Campus, held its annual Wai Khru ceremony, led by Assistant Professor Sitthichoke Janyong, Vice President of the Trang Campus, alongside Assistant Professor Kittikorn Khanklaew, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, and Assistant Professor Faphilai Thaveesin Sopa, Director of the College of Hospitality and Tourism. The event was attended by university executives, faculty members, staff, and students from all three divisions, and took place at the Major Pien Janyasibsri Building.

Organized by the Student Affairs Department, the ceremony featured several key activities, including the procession of the university emblem led by student representatives, the ceremonial anointing of textbooks by senior executives from the three divisions, and the student oath-taking ceremony. Students also presented traditional flower trays, incense, and candles in homage to their teachers, followed by a wrist-tying ceremony for the participating students. Additionally, a flower tray competition was held, with categories for aesthetics and creativity, with cash prizes awarded to the winners.

The ceremony also honored faculty members with the “Beloved Teacher Award,” recognizing the professors most admired by students from all three divisions. The awardees included Associate Professor Dr. Thongchai Nitisuwan from the Faculty of Science and Fisheries Technology, Assistant Professor Paphatjakorn Areekul from the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, and Assistant Professor Kannika Buathongruang from the College of Hospitality and Tourism. Following this, certificates of recognition were presented to students for their outstanding contributions to the university, serving as motivation and a positive example for the student body at Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya, Trang Campus.
